Rules for choosing clothes for outdoor activities

Active rest is not just a sporty style, but the equipment according to the rules, which will help avoid injuries and troubles. What you need to buy before planning a trip to the mountains, skiing or for rafting on the river?

Rule 1 – Layering

One of the main rules for those who want to feel comfortable with any activity is that clothes should be worn in several layers. Moreover, the temperature outside the window does not matter – even in the summer, staying in only one T-shirt will bring problems.

The main layers of clothing should be three. The first is thermal underwear. Its main task is to regulate heat transfer and to divert sweat, which will appear even in cold weather, if you move actively. However, you can always choose thermal underwear according to the season. There are sweat models for summer, average for any season and warming for winter. And immediately the question arises: why not just buy underwear at once, because it is more universal? However, specialized options in the right conditions work better, and therefore, it is not worth saving, trying to do with one set.

It is important to choose the right size for the item. It should fit tightly to the body – this is not casual clothing. The maximum fit allows the laundry to cope with all its tasks: warm or cool, quickly absorb sweat and let the skin “breathe”.

The second layer is insulation or fleece. Its main task is to keep warm. Most often this is due to air molecules that are held between the fibers of the clothing.

And the last layer is protective. This is the so-called membrane clothing. With her, it certainly will not be scary or rain. It is perfect for climbers, because it has durability and does not tear. Another plus of it is that such clothes remove moisture well, which was absorbed by thermal underwear. So, all of the above sets are interconnected, and abandoning one of them means that the others will also not perform their functions to the full.

Rule 2 – material that “breathes”

Clothing for active sports must be sewn from natural materials with an admixture of synthetics. It used to be said that synthetics are dangerous. But it is indispensable, for example, for athletes, because it removes sweat perfectly, while completely natural fabric dries and dries for a long time, as a result of which a person sweats even more and can even catch a cold.

You should not choose things from fabrics with pile or fleece. They are warm, but this quality is outweighed by such disadvantages as a lot of weight in the wet state and the duration of drying. Also, ticks and other insects can crawl into such clothes.

If you buy clothes in specialized stores for outdoor activities, such as Sportmaster, Decathlon or online stores such as https://brooklet.com.ua/, then there must be clothing from the membrane or things with special openings for air exchange.

Rule 3: comfortable shoes

For some reason, many ignore one of the most important points of preparation for hiking and other activities. It is not necessary to buy very expensive shoes with many functional solutions. You need to look at the weather and what you plan to do. For example, if the trip is uncomplicated, and weather forecasters promise good weather, ordinary sneakers are quite suitable, because they are light and can soften the load on the joints when walking. Trekking sneakers are also suitable if the terrain is not too difficult.

For walking along hiking trails, running sneakers are quite enough. But, if you have to go through the woods and make your way through the thicket, it is better to choose sneakers with a compacted top and bottom, otherwise the blow from each branch or stone will be felt. These same sneakers can be used during rafting, because they dry quickly.

A hike along a difficult terrain will not cause difficulties if you put on high low shoes. They perfectly support the ankles and reduce the likelihood of dislocation, because slipping on stone or soil is very easy.

And, of course, a headdress is required (hat, panama hat, cap), as well as gloves. These useful accessories will protect against heat stroke and accidental injuries. Having prepared in this way, you can expect that any active holiday will be fun and safe!
