National Day of China
Chinese holidays: China’s National Day is one of them, the history of this great Chinese holiday begins on October 1, 1949, when Mao Zedong, the first president of the country, appeared in Tiananmen Square to announce the official establishment of the People’s Republic of China and present the new national flag. After his speech, the first public parade of the new People’s Liberation Army took place, and of course, if you look at other Chinese holidays, then China’s National Day is the most important of them.
On December 2, 1949, the Central People’s Administration declared October 1 a national holiday, although the Chinese actually gained independence on September 21, 1949. In 1958, a monument to national heroes was erected to honor the memory of people who died during the civil war.
Chinese holidays: National Day of China.
Every year, National Day is celebrated in Tiananmen Square, where Chinese people gather to celebrate the creation of the People’s Republic of China.
The ceremony begins with the raising of the national flag on the mast, which is accompanied by crowds of fireworks and the singing of the national anthem.
After the solemn raising of the flag at the mast, the military parade takes 66 minutes to recall the national humiliation and revolutionary martyrs and raise the spirit of the nation.
The parade of the Chinese armed forces in Tiananmen Square takes place every 5 years (on a smaller scale) and every 10 years on a larger scale.
The Communist Party, together with the leaders of the state, presents flowers to the monument to national heroes.
In the evening, a gala concert is held, which presents songs and dances on the theme of glorifying the Motherland and the modern era. The celebration of the National Day is also accompanied by various cultural and sports events, as well as fireworks.
These celebrations begin the golden week, which is a holiday without work. Offices, factories and companies are closed during this period. The traffic in the country is intense, which increases the prices of accommodation, and buying train tickets is very difficult.
All Chinese holidays are a very spectacular event, organized at a very high level, starting from performances and organization and ending with technological solutions.
