The cultural heritage and attractions of Japan are diverse and rich – national traditions and customs, Buddhist monuments, preserved temple complexes. The interest of tourists to the magnificent Japan does not dry up. After all, this is one of the most mysterious countries in the world. Vacation in Japan will help you unravel the secret of its attractiveness and mystery. What to see in Japan?
When visiting Japan, tourists usually start with its capital – Tokyo. This city has several centers: Kazumigaseki, Otemachi, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Shibuya. The centers are surrounded by a sea of small houses, in which almost village life is conducted. Women go to the market in kimonos, the air is filled with the cry of birds and the smell of smoke. Tokyo is a city of contrasts, where towering skyscrapers coexist with ancient architectural monuments.
In the heart of the city is the Koke Imperial Palace, surrounded by the Kitanomaru and Higashi-gyoen parks. It will be interesting to go to the temple of the goddess Kannon, the Science Museum, the Tokyo National Museum, the Toshogu Temple. The complex of skyscrapers “Three Towers” will impress tourists with its beauty. In general, there are many museums in Tokyo – more than thirty, of which it is worth visiting the Museum of Lighters, the Metro Museum, the Ota Museum – the Museum of Japanese Prints, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Art. Hibiya and Rikushen Parks are also considered attractions in Tokyo. They host all kinds of chrysanthemum exhibitions.
The Japanese island of Honshu, which has five national parks, is also popular with tourists. Nikko Park, which is famous for its volcanic valleys and mountains, is located 150 kilometers from Tokyo. Here, at an altitude of 1271 meters, there is also a lake Chuzenji with a depth of 170 meters. A stream of water flows out of it, forming an excellent waterfall with a height of 97 meters. Another interesting attraction of Nikko Park is an alley with a length of 37 kilometers with fifteen thousand cedars.
Any self-respecting tourist should also visit Naru – the first capital of Japan. In its park is the Todaiji Temple, which is the tallest wooden structure in the world. And in general, the whole city is one big museum. In Naru, you can see a huge number of Buddhist temples: Horyuji Temple, Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple. The city also has another huge park, which is home to thousands of deer.
At one time, another capital of Japan was the city of Kyoto. Now it contains many historical and cultural monuments of the country. The main attractions of Kyoto are the Geen Gardens, the temples and palaces of Kemizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji, and the rock garden at Ryoanji Temple. You will be able to walk around the old town, guided by a map of three hundred years ago, because since then, absolutely nothing has changed here. Sometimes it seems as if time is frozen here, everything is imbued with the spirit and atmosphere of ancient times. In the Gion quarter, tourists can watch a performance of the famous Kabuki theater, which has existed for about five hundred years.
The city of Osaka was nicknamed the Japanese Venice. It is located on the Yodogawa River delta. This city has more than 1300 bridges that connect many channels. The city of Osaka was created on the site where boats and ships were unloaded. The most famous castle in Japan is located here. It looks old, but inside it is a modern museum.
The clean, warm sea and gorgeous beaches attract tourists to the Japanese island of Okinawa. Here you can visit pearl farms, admire coral reefs, and go scuba diving.
Another famous symbol of Japan is Mount Fuji, whose height is 3776 meters. On a clear day, this mountain can be seen even from a distance of 160 kilometers. Fuji is a real volcano, the last eruption of which occurred in 1708.
